Rock Star after birth.

So Kate Middleton has been on my mind for the past few days.

This is definitely not a typical name going through my mind throughout the day, but her name sure does keep popping up in my thoughts from time to time this week.

More specifically the birth of her third child.

I know I am late getting on this wagon, but I just can’t get it out of my mind.

Now, I like Kate Middleton, I always have. She may be royal but she seems to be very kind and very normal which I appreciate so very much. However, I thought it was a bit bizarre that she left the hospital so early after the birth of her third child.

At first I thought, that poor woman. She is already being forced to make an appearance just hours after she gave birth. What a terrible thing to go through, especially being so famous. I mean she is still human! But then I read a different point of view where someone was talking about how she left the hospital so early because she probably just wanted to be home where she isn’t bothered by the media.

Either way I hope she is happy with her decision to leave the hospital so early after giving birth.

Didn’t she look amazing, though? I mean she looked phenomenal! Kudos to Kate for being a rock star of a mom!

8 hours after I gave birth I was a swollen, bloody mess! Although it would have been nice to get my hair styled, my make up done, a fresh pair of undies and a nice outfit to wear. That still wouldn’t change the fact that my entire body from the top of my head to the end of my toes was extremely swollen and that I was bleeding uncontrollably! But hey, a good make over would have been nice.

I used to think staying in the hospital for 2-3 days wasn’t enough time for Mommas, especially new mommas, but after realizing that not everyone is the same and if you are ready to go home much early on than you should be able to go home as long as your health is good. So why not go home hours after your birth? After all you are going to rest better if you are in your own house and in your own bed.

I truly think that Kate Middleton just raised the bar for mommas getting their groove back. I know I am not the only one that left the hospital looking like a complete disaster and I know I am not the only one that would rather next time be a bit more gracious. I hear all the time about those stories where the Mom-to-be is putting on a full face of makeup during her labor. I also hear all the time about the mommas who hours after their birth they are showering and fixing their hair up all nice while Daddy is bonding with their baby.

I say why the hell not!?

I feel my absolute best when my hair is done, my clothes are nice and comfortable, and my make up is in tip top shape! So next time I give birth, if giving myself a make over is going to help me recover and feel more confident then that is what I should do!

Now if I could just set the bar high like Kate Middleton does and have my own hair stylist and make up artist come in and do it all for me…
